This Privacy Policy explains how the SafeDrop consortium ("we", "us") processes personal data collected through this website (safedrop-project.eu), in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR").

1. Data controller

The data controller for this website is the SafeDrop project coordinator, Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research (IAP), Potsdam-Golm, Germany. For any data-protection request, contact manuel.gensler@iap.fraunhofer.de.

2. What data we collect

• Contact & newsletter data: name and email address you voluntarily provide.
• Technical data: limited server and browser information (e.g. IP address, browser type) processed to deliver and secure the website.
• Analytics data: if you consent to analytics cookies, we collect usage statistics (pages visited, browser type, approximate location) with Matomo, an analytics platform self-hosted on the project’s own server in the EU. IP addresses are anonymised before storage and the data is never shared with third parties. 3. Purposes & legal basis

• Responding to your enquiries — legal basis: your consent / our legitimate interest.
• Sending the newsletter — legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time.
• Operating and securing the website — legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes above, or as required by applicable law and the terms of the Grant Agreement, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

5. Sharing your data

Personal data may be shared with consortium partners and processors (e.g. email or hosting providers) strictly for the purposes described, under appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority. To exercise your rights, contact us using the details above.
